Amazing Healing

I had been feeling somewhat discouraged over recent weeks, mainly because I haven't seen many specific answers to prayer nor any obvious supernatural healings, but Friday evening Town Centre outreach changed that.

We had an amazing evening on Friday in the town centre. We spoke to lots of people and prayed for several.  Towards the end of the evening two young men came up to the table to find out what we were doing.

I explained what Outside Light was and that we were there to share God's love with people.  We had a general chat and I shared the Gospel with them.  They said that they didn't believe but that they were open to other people's ideas.

One of the two young men, Sean, then very abruptly said: "Sorry, we've got to go." and started walking off.  As he walked away he slowed down and then leant over by a raised flowerbed, looking unwell.  I went over to where he was and asked him what was wrong.  He explained that he had just suddenly started feeling very unwell with severe stomach pain and sickness.  He said that he thought he might need to call an ambulance.

I offered to pray for Sean and he accepted so I asked God to bring His Kingdom to us and commanded the sickness out of Sean's body in Jesus' name.  Sean said that he did feel a bit better, which I took as an encouragement.

I asked Sean if I could pray for him again and he agreed.  I verbally broke the power of the enemy over Sean's life and commanded all pain and sickness out if his body.  At this point Sean stood up with a huge smile on his face.

I asked him if he felt better and he said; "I don't just feel better, I feel great!  What did you do?"

Sean and his friend then came back to the table and I was able to explain the power of God for them both.  Sean acknowledged that God had touched him and said that he woud definitely look more into the Christian faith.  They both took a Mark's Gospel with them.
 
We had a great sense of God being with us. Well done to the team for coming out and thank you to those who have been praying for us!
 
A great evening all round and certainly helped me to dismiss some of those doubts in God's love and power that had crept in.

God is amazing!

What an amazing night we had last night!  We spoke to lots of people, quite a lot of light banter, but also some who had some more questions.  The highlight of the evening was when a young lady (We'll call her G for the sake of confidentiality), who we had seen and prayed for before, came up to the table with a friend of her's.  G's friend was a new believer having been to a pentecostal church in Bradford where she had been living until recently and had experienced the power of God for herself.  G asked me if God could forgive her for anything she had done and confessed some past sins which she still felt were hanging over her.  I told her that God had already forgiven her no matter what she had done.  We prayed for G and she asked Jesus to come into her life for the first time!

As we prayed for G, both her friend and I had an enormous sense of the presence and kingdom of God with us right there.  G was clearly quite moved and felt thrilled that she had been able to pray herself.  G and her friend have agreed to come to church with me tomorrow morning so please pray for her as she is still an extremely young believer.

It is such a privelage to be part of what God is doing in Woking.  We've really seen an increase in His presence and power with us on Friday evenings - exciting times!

Saturday Morning Outreach

We had a great team at the recent outreach with 9 people coming along and a real sense that God wants us to be doing this outreach.

The prayer  time was awesome!

(Just a few main points)

a) Re outreach

1. realised the need to be out there, be a presence, and see the Holy Spirit's leading in 1 to 1 conversations.

2. Praying for more younger people to join with this outreach.

b) Prayed a lot for Woking and the churches:

1. For the leaders to be released to take bold steps for God.

2. For the congregations to be released into their  areas of gifting.

3. We prayed for renewed vision for the leaders.

4. For unity

Anyway, so much....just pleading with God in His mercy to move mightily amongst us once again.

Friday night update

This is just a general post to let you know about some of the exciting things that have been happening with the Friday night outreach in Woking Town Centre.

We had something of a relaunch back in February, not just because we got new firemen style jackets, but because we got a new vision from God.  The vision for Friday nights is that not only will we share the Gospel of the Kingdom of God with many and see the power of God released through a supernatural ministry to those in need of healing and freedom, but that within the team, God would work to develop, particularly new Christians, into effective evangelists through training and the work of His Holy Spirit.

No sooner had we decided on this vision than new members started coming to the team, and we have been really blessed to work with at least three new team members over the last few months.  Not only have we seen the team grow, we have seen some great things on the streets themselves.  We have prayed for people for healing and release from dark spriritual opression, we have seen individuals respond to The Gospel and even start coming to Church.

My only prayer is that we would see more of God at work in this ministry, more of God's power, more of his great love and grace for the lost and broken hearted, and more people come to know Him for themselves.

A new start

Hello all and welcome to the first post of 2012.  We went out on the streets last night for our first Friday night town centre outreach.  We had a team of six, including one brand new member, which was great.  We also had some new Outside Light coats:

We had a very interesting night.  It was freezing cold (actually the nightime low was -5 degrees!) and it seemed that most of Woking had spent January's money over Christmas!  In short, the town was pretty quiet, but we did meet several people, many of whom received a hot drink and a smile, some of whom we talked to about what we believe and others who we gave gospel literature to and one person received prayer.

Overall we were received really well by all who spoke to us and finished the evening with a great sense of satisfaction.  I think that our break over Christmas had perhaps done us some good!  I am often reminded that we simply don't know what God is going to do with what we offer him, and the feeding of the five thousand, turning a packed lunch into a massive feast, is a good example of that.

I am convinced that God will bless all those whom we spoke to and prayed for.
